Ready for Change

Updated: Sep 29
September brings change. Summer slowly gives way to autumn, routines return, and priorities begin to shift. There is something about this time of year that naturally invites us to pause, reflect, and take a closer look at where we are—and where we would like to be. Sometimes, that reflection brings a quiet realization: Something in my life is ready to change.
It may be a relationship, a career, a belief, a habit, or a pattern that no longer feels right. Sometimes we recognize that something has changed within us before anything has changed around us. A relationship may feel different. A familiar path may no longer feel meaningful. A dream we once set aside may begin to call to us again.
We can sense that something is shifting, yet still feel uncertain about what comes next. Change can bring a mixture of emotions. There may be excitement about what lies ahead, along with sadness for what we are leaving behind. There may be hope, curiosity, and even a sense of relief, while at the same time we feel afraid to step beyond what is familiar.
The familiar can feel safe simply because we know it. Even when something has stopped serving us, we may remain connected to it because we know what to expect. Moving forward asks us to trust that there can be something meaningful on the other side of what we have known. This is where intuition can become especially important.
Fear often speaks loudly. It can focus our attention on uncertainty and everything that could go wrong. Intuition speaks more quietly. It may come as a feeling, a thought that keeps returning, a sense of knowing, or an inner awareness that something deserves our attention—even when we cannot yet explain why. Learning to recognize the difference can take time.
Our intuition is shaped by everything we have experienced. The wisdom gained through our relationships, challenges, choices, disappointments, successes, and lessons becomes part of who we are. These experiences give us a deeper understanding of ourselves and can help guide us toward what feels more authentic and meaningful. Sometimes, change is not about becoming someone different. It is about becoming more fully yourself.
If you find yourself at a crossroads, give yourself permission to pause before making a decision. You may not need to have every answer. Sometimes the next step becomes clearer when we simply allow ourselves to listen. Ask yourself:
What am I sensing?
What keeps returning to my thoughts or heart?
What would I choose if I trusted myself?
What might become possible if I allowed myself to move forward?
You may discover that the answer is already within you, waiting for the space and attention to be heard.
A reading can offer another perspective during times of change, bringing clarity, guidance, and support as you consider your path. Sometimes we simply need another perspective to help us see what we have been sensing all along. We may not be able to see the entire road ahead, and we rarely need to. Sometimes, a little clarity is all we need to see the next step.
